The house league provides a less competitive atmosphere
The APHA House League consists of Mini-Mite through Midget brackets with nominally 2-3 teams in each. Each team has 14-17 players. Over 200 boys and girls participate. Teams generally practice two - three hours and play one - two games per week, September through March. Most teams participate in at least one tournament per year.
The house league provides a less competitive atmosphere than the Travel League and is for players of all skill levels. The teams in each division play against each other as well as against teams from other local cities. APHA house teams participate in the Little Caesar's Amateur Hockey League (LCAHL).
