Travel hockey is a much more competitive level of play
Travel hockey is a more competitive level of play than the house league, with teams from various cities competing with each other. Our APHA travel teams compete in the Little Caesar's Amateur Hockey League (LCAHL) based out of the Metro Detroit area. For the 2008 fall season we have 10 teams: Mite A to Midget A and Girls 14U.
The APHA travel teams usually play 4-6 tournaments per year in addition to the league (~25) and scrimmage schedule. In total, APHA travel teams play nominally 45-65 games per year and practice three - five hours per week from September through early March. Generally teams play two games per week.
